It has been quite some time since i’ve made a post in this blog. I came to the arena of personal protection from growing up in the streets of Northern Ireland. Neighbours getting killed, or doing the killing. Bombs exploding in shops or hotels. As I slowly became involved in some things myself, and eventually into organised crime and gangs, after many years, I felt that this wasn’t for me. There was another part of me, that was emerging. Whilst it is true that I was a ‘co-coordinator of crime’ (according to the police], it was felt that in a strange way, my past is exactly what can be used to help people not become victims of crime.

Eventually I was able to break away from gangs, and became a complementary therapist. After some time I had the opportunity to become a Reality Based Self Defence Instructor. This blog has been a part of that. It’s purpose has been to share with you a full disclosure of what crime can be like, in the hope that this will prepare you a little bit. It’s the remit of reality based self defence, to both understand and share the psychological effects of criminal attacks. The core message of this blog has always been to support the Criminal Justice System, and due process. And I encourage you to read our mission statement from the blogs creation.

While I’ve not taught for a time, I’ve appreciated working alongside many ex-military, who are still my friends. There is always a risk when one is open about their past, though it’s always been felt that this is an important teaching tool in itself. Speaking in this blog about such things as the terrorist attacks on myself, was always a risk, as I continued to live among them. Though It was felt that, that even having been also bullied by terrorists many times, including thirteen death threats, that it was worthwhile being open.

Once again, I am being subjected to psychological attacks, and have been the subject to a smear campaign which is still on-going. Various things are being alleged about me, and the content of this blog is now being used to support that. I’ve been direct and vocal in trying to get various parties to get law enforcement involved, and I’ve even challenged these people to do that. Claims have been made about me that are not factual. And facts are extremely important in law. As I know the criminal side of law, I know what not to do. Quite a bit I can prove digitally already, and the rest I would ask law enforcement to. I firmly believe in the criminal justice system, and would expect them to be allowed to do their job. This is my idea.

Online bullies & trolls will quite often grossly exaggerate facts, or just plain lie. There is a spiritual website with a history of posting gross exaggerations about people, that has published lies about me. Lies I can prove digitally. While this may cause suffering for a lot of people, for those few who are used to psychological attacks and the law, telling lies is the one thing that will invalidate any legal position. It’s for this reason that I have been pushing very hard publicly for law enforcement to be involved. Additionally, there was nothing that various terrorist groups could do to bully me in this country, and there is nothing psychological that these online trolls are able to do to intimidate me either. I was born into a world of attacks and harassment. Indeed, my last death threat was an order to leave this country within 24 hours, after a session of false imprisonment, interrogation & torture. I wrote about it here before. Although it is from this attack I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I did not leave. Instead, I faced it head on, and moved into the town where their headquarters was based.

As content from this blog has been used out of context to the overall message of ‘Combating Crime’, I’ve had to take it offline temporarily in order to safeguard the purpose of our Combating Crime idea. It is expected that this blog will go live in the future again as there are talks between my own self defence organisation and another one in delivering seminars, including our popular live firearms anti-terrorist courses we ran before alongside the English personal protection group we previously did. Details will be provided here and in our self defence page on Facebook.

Thank you all for the support you have provided over the years in our trying to provide something alternative, including being inducted into the combat hall of fame for recognition in our courses for local government. Thank you also to the new ‘fans’ for the increased traffic the blog has had of late as well, 😉 .

Mission Statement

Posted: August 7, 2011 in Mission Statement

Combating Crime aims to give an insight into the mind & actions of criminals,  with a view to crime prevention, rehabilitation & personal transformation. This perspective won’t be from the law-abiding professional within the Criminal Justice System, rather, it will be from someone who at one time created crime, and felt the full force of the CJS.

Whilst the perspective that is to be shared will undoubtedly be somewhat ‘alien’ to many, including professionals tasked with dealing with crime, it is felt that this alternative perspective is one that many will find useful. If the criminal insights shared here are able to help even one person prevent or mitigate a criminal event, our purpose will have been served.

…Much of the authors life has been a series of appalling mistakes. Having got himself into the criminal lifestyle it was all he knew, and for many years he certainly neither saw a way out nor cared to look for one. It is a life he in which he feels he achieved nothing special. Despite being named as a ‘coordinator of crime’ in court by police, and a gang leader in organised crime, he certainly never regarding himself as anyone of note in the criminal underworld.

A culmination of life events brought about the opportunity for Wayne to take a hard look at himself. He hated what he had become. Having lost his family, and friends. And facing two Crown Court trials. The real chance of prison for 20 years seemed very real.

Realising that his whole life was in his own control. Should he wish it. Wayne embarked instinctively on a 3 stage process (which he will share). A process that is not only applicable to crime, but also most of lifes challenges. This is a story about the improbable. Of how one person whom has forged a deep indentity in his psyche can face up to his demons (ongoing). A person who wobbled on the path to redemption many times. Yet kept trying. Who created and tried to escape the complexities of criminality.

For Wayne, bearing his life in the way he does tends to get peoples attention. Although this comes with some personal attacks he has always felt it is best to be open. Wayne has been able to use his negative experiences and turned them into a positive force for others. This was recognised when he was inducted into the ‘Combat Hall of Fame’ for his services to the community including personal safety courses for local government authorities.”
